As for holidays, that was about 4-5 years ago. At a wine tasting in Grado we got to know a very smart wine grower. About 10 years older than us. I immediately saw that my wife was very enthusiastic about him. She was a little tipsy, which made it even easier.

I guess in some ways, I had it coming. I kept haranguing my poor wife for being a little overweight. Whenever she would eat that second dessert or late night sweet I would chide her about it. I really shouldn’t have made a big deal out of it.

It was an odd question to ask someone considered to be your best friend, or maybe I was reading it wrong since it was a text message…. The message, waking me from my sleep read, “I know this might sound weird, but can I use your wife to go to a wedding with me next Saturday?”
